Girl-phobic and easily embarrassed, Bryce does everything he can to avoid Juli for the next six years, which isn't easy, as they go to the same school and live across the street from each other. When they start the sixth grade, Bryce tries to get rid of Juli by dating Sherry Stalls, whom Juli despises. This plan works until Bryce's best friend, Garrett, takes an interest in Sherry and tells her the truth about Bryce asking her out; she doesn't take it well. When Juli finds out Bryce and Sherry break up, she goes back to her regular Bryce-obsessed self. From Juli's perspective, when she and Bryce first met, he returned her feelings but was just shy. When he "held her hand" she thought she would get her first kiss from him in the second grade. Juli knew that she was flipped from then on. After finding out Bryce and Sherry broke up, she thought she could have her old Bryce back. She spends the whole year sniffing his watermelon-scented hair and wondering if she'd ever get his kiss. In 1963, now in seventh grade, Bryce's grandfather Chet Duncan moves in with the family. Chet has different views about Juli. He explains this to Bryce with hope. There's a large, old sycamore tree that Juli loves which no one understands. One day, it's cut down by a group of landscapers so a house could be built there, despite Juli's efforts to stand up to them. She becomes very depressed afterwards, as the tree let her see the world in a much more enlightened way. Her father gives her a painting of the tree as a memento. Chet gets to know Juli while helping her work on her messy lawn. Bryce begins to develop feelings for Juli, who, in contrast, begins to have mixed feelings about him. When Juli finds out that Bryce has been throwing away the eggs she offered him and his family, out of fear of salmonella, right under her nose, she feels hurt and starts avoiding him. He apologizes for doing it, although Juli asks him why he didn't tell her. After visiting her disabled uncle Daniel, Juli overhears Bryce badmouthing him, which causes her to stop having any interest in him. When the Bakers are invited to the Loskis' for dinner, Juli confronts Bryce about what he said. During dinner, they sit opposite each other; she doesn't talk to Bryce or make eye contact with him. After dinner, she apologizes for her behavior. Bryce is upset that she apologizes, because it means she doesn't care enough to hold a grudge. Juli still has mixed feelings when the basket boy auction is approaching. She hears that Sherry is planning to bid on Bryce against Melanie, another one of the school's "finest" girls. Bryce thinks that Juli intends to bid on him because he hears that she has a wad of cash (which she wasn't planning on having with her). Bryce worries about what will happen if she tries to bid on him when she bids on Eddie Trulock (basket boy #8), the boy before Bryce. During the basket boy lunch, Bryce and Sherry sit at a table across from Juli and Eddie. They can't help but look at each other. He sees she's having a good time with her date and gets jealous. He grabs her and attempts to kiss her, publicly humiliating her. He chases her after she dodges his kiss. Juli gets on her bike and cycles home as fast as she can. Garrett yells at Bryce, and they end their friendship after an argument. Juli bikes home crying. Bryce continuously tries to talk to her, knocking on the door, calling her house, and coming to her window, even though she wants to be left alone. 2 days later, Bryce plants a baby sycamore tree in Juli's front yard, with her father's permission, to show her how he feels. Juli is displeased about Bryce digging up her grass at first, but when she sees the sycamore tree, she softens up and goes out to help him. They share passionate smiles, and then plant the tree together. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Flipped (film)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
